At IBC (booth 6.A24), XenData is showcasing a new generation of LTO archive appliances that provide simultaneous access to archived data through both traditional file system protocols and S3-compatible object storage.
This innovative approach allows organizations to manage the same archived content seamlessly within file-based and object-based workflows.

The new X20 V3, X25-S V3, and X50 V3 appliances combine LTO tape library storage with a high-performance disk or SSD tier used for write caching and intelligent pre-fetching. They support SMB and NFS file shares as well as secure HTTPS access via S3 buckets, offering maximum flexibility for modern data management environments.

Designed for long-term data retention, the appliances support most major LTO library brands and scale to tens of petabytes while delivering significantly lower storage costs and energy consumption compared to disk-only or flash-based infrastructures.

In addition, the systems provide strong ransomware resilience by preserving deleted files and previous versions on LTO cartridges, enabling straightforward data recovery when needed.

The new appliances bridge the gap between file-based applications and on-premises object storage, providing a cost-effective and highly scalable archive platform for media and enterprise environments.
